I am looking at this with a bit of Zen's beginners mind.

God, Twitter is messy, confusing.

Cheers Nat!

It's a tough journey that we sign up for as creative entrepreneurs, but also immensely rewarding. As long as we can stay conscious of the fact that not all the rewards are in the form of $.

Coal to Diamonds - Persistence - getting intrinsic value from what we DO rather than what we GET. I loved this little piece Rebecca. Its that old crappy journey not destination metaphor really isn't it. I'm lovin' my journey and the actions that I'm making happen.
Nice food for thought Rebecca.

Too right. I do love the unknown - it is a great helper to faith.

Here's another "young" quote which I appreciated very much:

"...young people seem to need sleep more than the old, who have already slept so much and are preparing to sleep for all eternity." (Adso of Melk in "The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco)

Meanwhile, it being 11.30am, I'd better go and get out of my pyjamas!

What I've experienced in the last 10 months, is how scared and uncomfortable some people are when having ideas and being creative. Ofcourse these observations are of people not used to being creative, but even so, my point is that for any creative leader, one must know of the mental and emotional barriers around them prior to even designing the space, let alone holding it... To actually cultivate a space for ideas-and to not criticize any idea, was one of my earliest memories of Kaos Pilot teachings... Hey Michael ;)

Funnily enough, the last time I heard the phrase 'holding the space' was in relation to a women's circle. The terminology seems to be used quite commonly in these kind of spiritual forums to mean that the lead woman invests her energy to create a safe place in which the other participants can open themselves freely to the experience knowing that they will be acknowledged, respected and protected.

Doesn't sound so different to what is required to facilitate true innovative and creative thinking within organisations.

Yes and no. This may just create ineffectiveness. The extra required for burnout is to care deeply.
